Job summary

Agilent Technologies is seeking a Demand Planning Data Scientist to build predictive models and deliver insights that guide demand forecasting for inventory and supply plans.

You will partner with IBP demand planners to generate reliable forecasts, analyze deviations, and communicate analytical gains to cross-functional teams, improving forecasting accuracy and customer outcomes. This role supports a full-time schedule with remote work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1–2+ years of data science experience.
• Extensive knowledge in predictive modeling, machine learning, and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.

Responsibilities

• Develop Statistical Forecasts: Lead predictive models to forecast product orders across geographies using historical data, ML, market intel, and field input.
• Assist Demand Planner(s) with root cause analysis by evaluating metrics like forecast accuracy and bias.
• Evaluate IBP deviations with Demand Planners and understand impacts on current month plans.
• Generate analytical insights and design experiments to validate model performance and improve forecasting accuracy.
• Communicate analytical gains to business functions for productionizing models and sharing results.
• Create and validate statistical models for production use and analyze large datasets for trends and insights.
• Model complex organizational problems using statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques.
• Educate the organization on new analytical approaches and data-driven methods.
• Identify data science opportunities and present findings to stakeholders with clear visualizations.
