Job summary

Veda is a remote-first company building vault infrastructure for DeFi at scale. We seek a Compliance Director to oversee global compliance programs, focusing on custody, data protection, and regulatory requirements across products and partnerships.

You'll report to the General Counsel and help create a culture of integrity and accountability, working with regulators, auditors, and enterprise partners in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in compliance/regulatory roles in fintech, finance or crypto.
• Knowledge of AML/CFT, data protection laws, and crypto/DeFi frameworks.
• Experience managing compliance programs in regulated or partner-facing contexts.
• Interest in DeFi and open-source ecosystems.
• Proactive, self-directed in a fast-moving startup.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain compliance programs, policies and procedures.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting DeFi.
• Ensure product and client integrations comply with applicable laws.
• Manage due diligence for client and partner relationships.
• Act as primary compliance contact for regulators, auditors, and partners.
• Conduct internal reviews and investigations; remediate issues.
• Maintain and report compliance metrics to GC and leadership.
• Coordinate responses to audits, certifications, and regulatory examinations.
• Oversee AML policies, data retention, and information security standards.
• Partner with Product, Security, and Engineering for privacy-by-design.
• Deliver targeted compliance training for staff.
• Promote a proactive compliance culture across the company.
