Job summary
Steffan & Co. seeks a experienced Legal Assistant/Secretary for its Product Liability Litigation Practice Group. You will support 5–7 attorneys in the SF office, with remote or hybrid options depending on location, and handle complex defense-litigation tasks.
The role requires 3+ years in defense litigation, iManage proficiency, and strong e-filing in CA and Federal courts. Excellent tenure and a proactive, detail-oriented approach are valued in this fast-paced firm.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Defense litigation experience as a legal professional.
- No Plaintiff litigation experience requested.
- Solid CA and Federal court e-filing familiarity.
Responsibilities
- Draft, revise, and format legal documents, memos, and emails.
- Prepare expense reports, check requests, client invoices, and time entries.
- E-file in CA state and Federal courts; maintain client files.
- Manage calendars and schedule appointments for attorneys.
- Coordinate client meetings, travel, and conferences (domestic/international).
- Greet clients and perform general administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with staff, paralegals, and lawyers; stay current with firm tech.
- Maintain proficiency with office procedures and firm systems.
