Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby LLP is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support our General Liability practice. The role offers remote work flexibility from any state where the firm has an office, with a preference for candidates in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.

You will provide administrative and litigation support for matters from inception through trial and closing. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of legal assistant experience in defense litigation, solid knowledge of

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Legal Assistant experience, preferably in defense litigation.
• Prior law firm experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with litigation procedures, court filings, and docket management.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while effectively supporting multiple attorneys.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Strong proofreading, document formatting, and administrative skills.
• Prior experience handling Pennsylvania state and federal court filings and procedures.
• New Jersey litigation experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Provide administrative and litigation support to assigned attorneys.
• Prepare, revise, format, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Assist with electronic filing of documents with state and federal courts.
• Maintain attorney calendars and docket deadlines, including court appearances, depositions, and other case-related dates.
• Organize and maintain electronic case files and documents.
• Assist with scheduling depositions, meetings, conferences, and other case-related matters.
• Prepare and organize materials for depositions, hearings, and trials, including exhibits and trial binders.
• Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties as needed.
• Monitor deadlines and provide reminders to attorneys as appropriate.
• Provide additional administrative support and perform other duties as assigned.
