Qualifications

• Utah Bar admission is required.
• Experience defending matters in litigation.
• Open to candidates with district court background.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of Utah defense matters from intake through hearing, trial, or settlement in state and federal courts and administrative forums.
• Represent insurance carriers, self-insured employers, private businesses, and third-party administrators.
• Appear at hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences on behalf of carriers, employers, and their insureds.
• Draft pleadings, position statements, discovery, motions, and briefs in court and administrative settings.
• Advise clients on coverage, claim handling, and risk, with the goal of early resolution where it makes sense.
