Job summary

BECU is seeking a Recovery Specialist to support charged-off accounts and protect financial health. You will negotiate settlements, stay compliant with debt collection laws, and manage case documentation while coordinating with attorneys, agencies, and internal partners.

The role combines independent recovery work with collaboration, reporting, and process improvement in a fast-paced financial services environment. Hybrid onsite and remote work is available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of customer service experience, including 3 years in collections.
• Knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act required.
• Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate recovery solutions with debtors and third parties to achieve positive outcomes.
• Maintain understanding of state and federal collection laws to guide compliant recovery.
• Monitor and document account activity in the collection system for accuracy.
