Archdiocese of Washington – Landover Hills, MD seeks a Coordinator of Deaf Ministries to oversee religious education for Deaf youth and Adults and coordinate sacramental preparation. This role reports to the Executive Director of Special Needs Ministries and serves as the Archdiocese’s face to the Deaf Catholic community locally and nationally.

The coordinator will work with parishes, Deaf organizations, and families to develop and implement faith programs, and will help integrate Deaf students

Qualifikationen

• Fluent in American Sign Language and Deaf culture.
• Direct experience serving Deaf communities.
• Three years in a public or community-facing role.
• Certified Catechist or Catechist training.
• Evenings and weekend availability to implement events.

Aufgaben

• Oversee religious education for Deaf youth and adults.
• Coordinate Sacramental preparation for participants.
• Oversee Deaf Adult Faith Formation programs.
• Coordinate Deaf Marriage, Baptismal sessions, and small study groups.
• Plan Advent-Lenten days of reflection, retreats and fellowship for Deaf communities.
• Act as liaison to pastors, parish staff, and Deaf families.
