Job summary

Rapid Mortgage Company is seeking an experienced DE/SAR Mortgage Underwriter to join our remote team. Your responsibilities will include analyzing mortgage loan applications, ensuring compliance with standards, and collaborating with internal teams. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of underwriting experience, active DE or SAR designation, and proficiency with the Encompass Loan Origination System. Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of current mortgage underwriting experience.
• Active DE (FHA) or SAR (VA) designation - Having both is strongly preferred.
• Experience underwriting Down Payment Assistance programs.
• Strong working knowledge of AUS platforms and ability to assess manual files.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and underwrite loan files including credit, income, assets, and appraisals.
• Issue clear, concise approval or denial decisions within delegated authority.
• Stay informed on changes to underwriting policies and regulatory updates.
