Jobot is seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter for a primarily remote role with occasional onsite meetings. You will underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans, evaluate automated underwriting results, and present files to the loan committee.

With 5+ years of underwriting experience, you’ll support branch partners, ensure timely submissions, and maintain accurate documentation while benefiting from robust onboarding and a strong, people-first culture.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Conventional, FHA, and VA loans in accordance with investor and agency guidelines.
• Submit files through automated underwriting systems and evaluate results.
• Approve or pend loans and present qualifying files to loan committee.
• Serve as a trusted underwriting resource for branch partners, assisting with scenarios, questions, and complex files.
• Maintain a consistent 24-48 hour turnaround on new submissions and resubmissions.
• Ensure accurate loan documentation and proper file maintenance.
• Utilize office systems and tools to support efficient underwriting operations.

As a Senior Mortgage Underwriter, you’ll play a critical role in turning homeownership dreams into reality. What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Active FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) and VA SAR/LAPP underwriting approval
• Minimum 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience
• Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with mortgage and lending partners
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills
• Comfort working in Microsoft Excel for data organization and analysis
• Experience with Encompass preferred (not required)
