Job summary

Aretum is seeking a Data Solution Engineer to deliver data pipelines and governance across bronze, silver, and gold medallion layers. You will implement pipelines in Databricks using SQL, Python and Spark, apply tagging and Unity Catalog standards, and enforce data protection policies and codified YAML configurations.

Remote-friendly role based in the U.S. federal contracting context, with emphasis on collaboration, security, and scalable data platforms.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree and 3–5 years of data engineering with Databricks, Spark, and YAML.
• Experience designing data governance, tagging, and metadata standards.
• Deep understanding of medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and data access controls.
• Experience implementing column masking and row-level security.
• Ability to reconcile competing requirements across stakeholders.
• Strong SQL and Spark, with declarative pipeline configuration in YAML.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and implement data pipelines in Databricks using SQL, Python, and Spark.
• Build and maintain bronze, silver, and gold data layers.
• Implement data governance tagging and Unity Catalog classifications.
• Apply data protection policies including masking and access controls.
• Define and maintain pipeline configurations as code (YAML).
• Execute data quality testing and validation against data contracts.
