Job summary

ARETUM is seeking a Data Solution Engineer to deliver pilots and proof-of-concept solutions across medallion data architectures. You will implement pipelines in Databricks, enforce governance tagging, and apply privacy controls to ensure compliant data workflows.

The role requires 3–5 years in data engineering with Databricks, Spark, and YAML, plus a solid understanding of data contracts and quality testing in a federal contracting context.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree and 3-5 years of data engineering experience with Databricks, Spark and YAML.
• Experience designing data governance, tagging, and metadata standards.
• Deep understanding of the medallion architecture across Bronze, Silver, Gold.
• Experience implementing column masking, row-level security, and dynamic access controls.
• Strong SQL and Spark; ability to define pipeline configurations declaratively via YAML.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and implement data pipelines in Databricks using SQL, Python, and Spark to support pilots and production data workflows.
• Build and maintain data pipelines across bronze, silver, and gold layers of the medallion architecture.
• Implement data governance tagging, metadata standards, and Unity Catalog classifications.
• Apply data protection policies including column masking and access controls across pipelines.
• Define and maintain pipeline configurations using YAML as code practices.
• Execute data quality testing and validation against data contracts and business rules.
