Cribl, a B2B SAAS data observability company, is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the Data Engineering team. You’ll shape architecture for analytics, data science, and decision‑making, working across Snowflake, SQL, dbt, AWS, and self‑hosted orchestration.

This hands‑on leadership role emphasizes mentoring, scalable patterns, and cost‑aware design in a remote-first environment. You’ll collaborate with data analysts, SREs, IT, and business teams to drive reliable, production‑grade data

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Snowflake data modeling, cost optimization and security.
• Proven technical leadership, setting direction and delivering complex systems.
• Strong Python and SQL fundamentals with ELT patterns.
• Hands-on experience with self-hosted orchestration (Prefect preferred; Airflow/Dagster acceptable).
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Lead Data Engineering architecture and design decisions for core data systems.
• Own operational hygiene and cost footprint of orchestration on a hybrid, self-hosted model.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive cross-functional collaboration across teams.
• Develop cloud-native services and infra on AWS; build and evolve ingestion and API services.
• Own Cribl’s Snowflake environment and data governance practices.
