Job summary

Figma is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to join our Data Engineering team and build the foundational systems powering AI-driven products and analytics.

You’ll own the data platform, improve local development, CI/CD, and deployment workflows, and create self-service data tools while partnering with Data Science, Infrastructure, and Product Engineering teams to ensure reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production data platforms.
• Strong Python software engineering skills.
• Experience improving developer workflows (local dev, CI/CD, testing).
• Experience with cloud data warehouses, orchestration, IaC, observability.
• Proven ownership of shared systems end to end and leading cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the shared data platform powering analytics and data-driven product development.
• Improve local development, testing, CI/CD, staging, and deployment workflows.
• Create self-service tools and clear paths for teams to deploy data pipelines.
• Improve reliability of data systems through monitoring, data quality, incident response, upgrades.
• Define data ownership, lineage, definitions, and reliability expectations.
• Collaborate across Data Engineering, Data Infrastructure, Data Science, and Product Engineering to define patterns for data delivery.
