Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Data Architect - Staff to design and maintain modern data infrastructures across cloud and on‑premise environments. You will work with SQL, PySpark, and big data tools to deliver scalable data models, pipelines, and warehouses, while guiding data governance and security practices.

The role emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders, mentoring, and delivering robust data architectures to support analytics and AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with SQL and experience with traditional RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform for data architecture and storage solutions.
• Strong familiarity with programming languages such as Python and PySpark for data engineering tasks.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools, including traditional (SSIS, Informatica) and/or cloud-native solutions (Azure Data Factory, Databricks).
• Proficiency with Python or PySpark or R programming
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and teams.
• Proficiency in Product/Project/Program Management philosophies and methodologies, applied to data architecture projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain both traditional and modern data infrastructures.
• Combine expertise in relational databases, cloud technologies, and big data tools to create scalable data solutions.
• Develop strategies for integrating enterprise data, ensuring data quality, and optimizing data access across cloud and on-premise systems.
• Work on moderate to complex projects and mentor junior staff to deliver robust data models and pipelines.
