Job summary

WEKA is seeking a seasoned Data Platform Administrator to operate and optimize large-scale storage and compute for enterprise customers. The role focuses on day-to-day deployment, monitoring, and upgrades across GPU-enabled workloads, with direct collaboration to tailor the data layer for tenant workloads and performance baselines.

You will onboard new tenants, run benchmarks, automate repetitive tasks with Python/Bash/Ansible, and ensure recoverable runbooks.

Qualifications

• 10+ years administering enterprise infrastructure at scale.
• Deep Linux administration in distributed environments (RHEL/Ubuntu).
• Kubernetes and containers with persistent storage and CSI.
• Experience with GPU, HPC or large cloud infrastructure for external tenants.
• Hands-on with at least one major cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP or OCI.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Ansible; automation mindset.
• Experience with monitoring/alerting stacks (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Strong written and verbal communication; runbooks and docs.
• Familiarity with Jira for incident management.

Responsibilities

• Run the WEKA deployment day-to-day: monitoring, health, upgrades, capacity, config, audits.
• Manage file systems, tiering to object storage, snapshots, quotas, and protocols (POSIX, NFS, SMB, S3).
• Maintain operational run state; keep environment healthy and recoverable.
• Execute changes with approval, risk classification, validation, rollback, and outcomes.
• Watch for drift/capacity issues; propose remediation paths early.
• Onboard tenants and clients with repeatable procedures; validate configs before production.
• Benchmark workloads; report changes and rationale to tenants.
• Scale governance: identify limits and optimize networking and storage paths.
