Job summary

People Force Consulting Inc. seeks a Data Migration Lead for Data Warehouse and Reporting, with about 12 years of experience, to work remotely. You will own the design, development, and testing of migration efforts across DW and reporting platforms and mentor junior engineers.

You will define migration strategy, data mappings, and validation frameworks, and collaborate with BI and engineering teams to drive timely, accurate deliveries while identifying risks and maintaining thorough runbooks.

Qualifications

• Strong, well-rounded understanding of data warehousing concepts (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, ETL/ELT design).
• Significant experience in data warehousing, incl. tech lead roles.
• Proven track record managing end-to-end SDLC for DW/reporting projects.
• Hands-on ETL development and reporting experience.
• Strong familiarity with data migration projects and methodologies.
• Strong SQL skills (complex queries, performance tuning, data validation).
• Experience building POCs for report and log analysis.
• Excellent stakeholder communication to translate technical details for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead data migration initiatives across DW and reporting platforms, owning design, development, and testing phases end-to-end.
• Manage the complete SDLC for migration projects - requirements, planning, execution, testing, and delivery.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
• Build POCs for report analysis and log analysis to validate migration approaches and troubleshoot issues.
• Define migration strategy, data mapping, and validation frameworks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Drive data-driven decision-making across the project lifecycle.
• Identify risks and data quality issues early, and drive resolution independently.
• Create and maintain documentation: migration plans, test cases, mapping sheets, and runbooks.
• Mentor junior team members and guide the team as a technical lead.
• Partner with business stakeholders, BI teams, and engineering to gather requirements and communicate migration progress, risks, and timelines.
