Job summary

TalentOla is seeking a Data Migration Lead with hands-on data warehousing expertise to own end-to-end migration efforts across our DW and Reporting ecosystem. You will drive design, development, and testing, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with BI and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has years in a tech lead role, a data-driven mindset, and proven SDLC management for DW/reporting projects, ETL/ELT development, SQL optimization, and rigorous data validation.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas)
• Extensive experience as a tech lead in data warehousing projects
• Proven track record managing end-to-end SDLC for DW/reporting
• Hands-on ETL development and reporting experience
• Strong SQL skills, performance tuning, data validation
• Ability to communicate complex technical details to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead data migration initiatives across DW and reporting platforms, owning design, development, and testing phases end-to-end
• Manage the complete SDLC for migration projects — requirements, planning, execution, testing, and delivery
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation
• Build POCs for report analysis and log analysis to validate migration approaches and troubleshoot issues
• Define migration strategy, data mapping, and validation frameworks to ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Drive data-driven decision-making across the project lifecycle
• Identify risks and data quality issues early, and drive resolution independently
• Create and maintain documentation: migration plans, test cases, mapping sheets, and runbooks
• Mentor junior team members and guide the team as a technical lead
• Partner with business stakeholders, BI teams, and engineering to gather requirements and communicate migration progress, risks, and timelines

The ideal candidate has spent significant years as a tech lead, managed complete SDLC cycles, and can independently run the show with a data-driven approach — while communicating clearly with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

• Proven track record managing end-to-end SDLC for DW/reporting projects
• Hands-on experience in ETL development and reporting
• Strong familiarity with data migration projects and methodologies
• Strong hands-on SQL skills (complex queries, performance tuning, data validation)
• Experience building POCs for report and log analysis
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Self-starter who can run projects independently with a data-driven mindset
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills — able to translate technical details for non-technical audiences and manage expectations across teams
