Job summary

Cloudera is seeking a Field Specialist - Data Lakehouse to drive design of cloud-native lakehouse architectures, PoCs, and customer engagements across BI and AI-analytics. You will collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.

The role requires strong SQL and data modeling skills, Iceberg expertise, and the ability to travel monthly. A strong pre-sales background helps shape product direction and customer success.

Qualifications

• Experience leading data warehousing and BI use cases across industries such as Financial Services, Retail, Healthcare, Public Sector.
• Designing data lakehouses on Apache Iceberg and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on with SQL engines, open table formats, and big data warehousing tech (Iceberg, Trino, Hive, Impala).
• Experience in hybrid/multi-cloud deployments for massive BI and AI-ready analytics.
• Ability to run PoCs/MVPs that lead to enterprise-grade production deployments with high-concurrency query performance.
• Knowledge of data modeling, security, data quality, governance for trusted data delivery to analysts and data scientists.
• Excellent presentation skills for diverse audiences from SQL developers to executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer engagements by designing scalable, cloud-native lakehouse architectures and business outcomes for stakeholders.
• Provide domain expertise during sales cycles, supporting PoCs, solution sizing, and adoption for BI and AI-ready analytics.
• Troubleshoot complex issues related to query performance, concurrency, and data federation; guide escalations.
• Develop educational materials and best practices around modern data warehousing.
• Influence product roadmap from customer feedback and regional requirements to engineering teams.
• Act as a Cloudera evangelist at events and in community activities.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering to ensure customer success and aligned product vision.
• Travel to customer sites and Cloudera hubs approximately once per month.
