Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a Data Infrastructure Engineer Intern to join a fast-paced data team. You will help maintain data warehousing systems, write SQL queries, and support data pipelines while collaborating with engineers and analysts to enable data-driven decision making.

You will gain hands-on experience with AWS, Redshift, and modern ETL tools in a remote, full-time internship that emphasizes learning and ownership of projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in CS/Data Eng or related field.
• Basic understanding of relational DBs (MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL concepts.
• Familiar with at least one programming language (Python, Go).
• Interest in data infrastructure, distributed systems or backend engineering.
• Strong problem-solving and willingness to learn.
• Experience with Claude or similar LLM tools is required; ability to leverage AI to boost productivity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and improving data warehousing systems (AWS DMS, Redshift).
• Monitor data pipelines, identify issues, troubleshoot basic problems.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for analytics and data validation.
• Collaborate with engineers and analysts to understand data needs and use cases.
• Participate in testing, documentation, and reliability improvements.
• Identify and automate repetitive processes to improve efficiency.
• Learn and explore new data tools and technologies.
