Job summary

Figma is building a scalable data platform to power analytics, AI/ML, and decision making. You will design and operate large-scale data infrastructure, including Snowflake, ML Datalake, and orchestration layers, supporting engineers, researchers, and business teams.

You will work across a technical landscape with Spark, Kafka, Dagster, and Airflow, mentoring others while driving cost, reliability, and compliance at scale. This role can be remote within the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend or infra engineering experience in distributed data systems
• Experience with batch & streaming data processing (Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow/Dagster)
• Strong communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of learning and technical excellence

Responsibilities

• Design and build large-scale distributed data systems powering analytics, AI/ML, and BI
• Develop batch and streaming solutions for reliable, efficient, scalable data
• Manage core platforms (Snowflake, ML Datalake, orchestration infra, real-time ingestion)
• Improve data reliability, consistency, and compliance for stakeholders
• Identify and drive cost optimization across data processing, compute, and storage
• Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, product engineers, and business teams
• Drive technical decisions for ingestion, orchestration, processing, and storage
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of learning and excellence
