Job summary

Independence Pet Holdings seeks a Data Governance Analyst to manage and advance our data governance program across data catalog, metadata, and MDM initiatives. You will partner with governance, security, engineering, and product teams to ensure data quality and compliance.

You will lead catalog onboarding, glossary development, and lineage documentation while coordinating with stakeholders to improve data discoverability and governance maturity across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data governance or data management.
• Hands-on with data catalog platforms and metadata management.
• Experience building Data Stewardship Programs.
• Knowledge of data governance principles, metadata management, data cataloging, lineage.
• Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog or similar.
• Familiar with Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.
• Collaborates across governance, security, engineering, product, and business teams.
• Knowledge of governance frameworks and operating models.
• Experience measuring governance adoption and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support the enterprise Data Catalog with the Data Governance team.
• Lead the data catalog roadmap: metadata collection, onboarding, classification, glossary, lineage.
• Support and administer Unity Catalog, including data asset registration and access governance.
• Partner with data owners and engineering to improve data discoverability and governance adoption.
• Design and lead the Data Stewardship Program aligned with catalog deployment.
• Serve as administrator for Osano and manage governance-related requests.
• Support MDM platforms, stewardship workflows, and data quality initiatives.
• Monitor adoption, metrics, and usage trends; recommend improvements.
• Support governance projects and strategic initiatives as needed.
• Develop governance documentation, standards, and procedures.
