Self Financial in Austin, TX is seeking a Data Engineering Manager for the Data Platform team. You will own the health, reliability, and roadmap of core data pipelines and platform services while directly managing a team of data engineers.

You'll split time between hands-on architecture reviews, mentoring engineers, and evaluating tooling, partnering with Analytics, Risk, and Infrastructure to translate business needs into scalable data capabilities and governance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering/leadership roles.
• Experience designing and operating data warehouses or lakehouses.
• Strong knowledge of modern data stack components.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of data engineers.
• Own architecture and design decisions for the data platform.
• review designs and unblock hard technical problems.
• Drive modernization toward lakehouse architectures.
• Partner with Analytics, Risk, and Infrastructure teams to translate needs into capabilities.
