Job summary

UFCU seeks a Manager, Data Platform Engineering in Austin, TX to lead a technical team delivering enterprise data products and pipelines powering analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives. The role blends people leadership with hands-on engineering and platform governance.

Reporting to the Director of Platform Engineering, you will own the platform roadmap, drive data quality, security, and observability, and collaborate with stakeholders across Data & Analytics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading a platform engineering team delivering data pipelines and products.
• Experience with data governance, security, and compliance in enterprise environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to translate technical tradeoffs to business impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead a data platform engineering team delivering reliable data products, pipelines, and curated datasets for analytics and AI.
• Own the data platform roadmap, governance, and SDLC including data quality, lineage, and cataloging.
• Oversee data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration across on-prem and Azure cloud ecosystems.
• Manage DBA function across SQL Server environments, including performance tuning and availability.
• Partner with Security/Risk/Compliance to embed security into engineering practices.
• Coordinate Agile ceremonies and manage tasks on Azure DevOps; mentor and develop staff.
