Job summary

Skillable is a fully remote tech company building a modern data platform. The Manager, DataEngineering will lead a five+ person team to design reliable, scalable data pipelines and products, enforce data engineering best practices, and own day-to-day execution within the enterprise data platform.

You will drive architecture: Bronze→Silver→Gold with Databricks, Boomi/Rivery, Delta tables, and SQL Server patterns; partner with Data Architect; promote DataOps and SDLC standards; mentor future

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in CS/DS/Engineering.
• 10+ years in software/data engineering building production pipelines and platforms.
• 2+ years in lead capacity with team leadership and delivery ownership.
• Deep hands-on experience with Databricks, Boomi/Rivery, and Delta Lake patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day engineering execution and establish data engineering practices.
• Manage a team—hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, coaching.
• Translate architecture direction into backlogs and measurable outcomes.
• Own implementation of Medallion architecture (Bronze→Silver→Gold) across pipelines.
• Establish DataOps practices including CI/CD, branching, and runbooks.
• Improve pipeline observability and incident response; ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with data architects and business partners to shape requirements.
