Job summary

Apex Systems is hiring a Data Engineer for a large Healthcare client. This remote role supports migrating Medicaid lines of business onto a configurable enterprise platform within an agile scrum team focused on retiring a legacy system.

The candidate will write SQL, manage Teradata syntax, and handle Git operations while aligning with code reviews and platform configuration tasks. Remote US-based opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Two years of relevant experience.
• Proven SQL experience.

Responsibilities

• Write basic to complex SQL statements with multi-table joins, subqueries and aggregations.
• Execute FastLoad or MultiLoad scripts with guidance.
• Use Teradata-specific syntax such as QUALIFY, SAMPLE, and DATE arithmetic.
• Perform daily Git operations: commits, pushes, pulls, and branching.
• Resolve merge conflicts and apply branching strategies (GitFlow or trunk-based).
• Create clear merge request descriptions with context and testing notes.
• Configure new Medicaid plans onto the standardized platform.
