Job summary

DevEngine is expanding a remote data engineering team across North America and LATAM. We seek a contractor with 5+ years’ experience in data engineering, SQL mastery, and data modeling, plus ETL and warehousing know-how.

Some frontend work with Java, TypeScript, and Next.js is required to contribute across the stack. The engagement is a 3-month fixed-term contract with potential renewal, fully remote, and candidates can be located anywhere in Latin America.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience.
• Strong command of SQL with complex queries, performance optimization, and schema design.
• Proficient in creating and maintaining data models (conceptual, logical, physical).
• Intermediate ETL experience.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and solutions (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
• Hands-on data solution experience with traditional and/or big data technologies.
• Working knowledge of Java, TypeScript, and Next.js 15; frontend contribution is expected.
• Software engineering experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Interact with internal teams and clients to analyze data requirements and design solutions.
• Collect data from databases, APIs, and logs and integrate into a unified ecosystem.
• Perform data cleaning, structuring, and transformations for analysis.
• Manage databases, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity.
• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines to load data into warehouses.
• Monitor data quality, implement validation checks, and troubleshoot issues.
