Job summary

Whatnot in the United States is seeking a Data Engineer to build and scale the data systems powering decisions across the company. You will work with product, CX, logistics, finance, and trust teams to design reliable data architectures and resilient pipelines.

Expect to own data architecture end-to-end, lead CX and Logistics data domains, design canonical models, ensure data quality, automate workflows, and enable insights and experimentation in a fast-moving, remote-friendly environment with

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a data or software engineer building data warehouses or distributed data systems.
• Design and implement data models supporting analytical and transactional workloads.
• Hands-on with modern data tooling for ingestion, transformation, orchestration and observability.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Own data architecture end-to-end and define capture, model, and serve critical data.
• Lead CX and Logistics data domains and steward key metrics.
• Design canonical data models for analytics, ML, and real-time apps.
• Ensure data quality with tests, lineage, monitoring, and reconciliation.
• Automate workflows and integrate data across services and external systems.
• Enable insights and experimentation with semantic layers and real-time access.
