Job summary

Trilogy Federal is seeking a software/data engineer to design, build, and maintain app components and data pipelines in a remote-capable role with occasional client-site travel in the United States. You will translate business epics into working features and collaborate with analysts, product owners, and testers to deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, data science, information systems, software engineering, or similar.
• 3+ years in software development, data engineering, or closely related role.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
• Experience building or consuming REST APIs and working with JSON.
• Experience with Git-based version control.
• Ability to read and work from requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Willingness to learn new platforms and low-code environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and maintain app components (forms, dashboards, routing, notifications, auditing).
• Design and maintain relational/list data structures for routing, versioning, and reporting.
• Build data pipelines from Excel/CSV/form submissions to app data layer.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and stored logic for app functionality and data quality.
• Develop REST API integrations and data exchanges (JSON) with other systems.
• Create reporting views, dashboards, and automated outputs for SLA metrics.
• Translate epics/user stories into functionality and participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Validate data, create test data, support unit/regression testing, triage defects.
• Use Git-based version control, perform code reviews, manage branches & releases.
• Produce technical documentation including data dictionaries, schemas, and runbooks.
• Support compliance with security, privacy, records management, and 508 requirements.
• Collaborate with analysts, product owners, testers, and clients to verify requirements.
