Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. This remote role collaborates with data scientists and analysts to deliver real-time and batch data solutions.

You will implement ETL, build data warehouses, enforce governance and security, and optimize performance across large datasets using Python, Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and CI/CD tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Data engineering, data technologies, cloud platforms.
• OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Data engineering, data technologies, cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for real-time and batch processing.
• Implement ETL processes and data integration from multiple sources.
• Design data warehouse structures and ensure data quality.
• Apply data modeling techniques for efficient storage and retrieval.
• Implement data governance, quality frameworks, and compliance measures.
• Enforce data security and access controls.
• Analyze and optimize performance for large-scale data operations.
• Write unit tests and adopt automated pipelines using CI/CD tools.
• Manage code deployment across environments including production and DR.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to meet data requirements.
