Job summary

Providence is seeking a Data Engineer I to design and develop modern, data-centric applications supporting clinical and operational workflows. You will own reliability, security, and cost-efficiency of Providence's data platform, automating pipelines and monitoring SLAs.

You'll collaborate with Product, Platform, and Architecture teams while mentoring junior engineers and adopting emerging technologies to standardize processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year of related Snowflake, CTRL-M, and ADF experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and monitor ELT/ETL pipelines across cloud services and Snowflake.
• Triages failures and performs root-cause analyses.
• Orchestrates schedules and manages connectors (Ctrl-M, Fivetran, HVR).
• Develops automation with SQL, Python, and shell on Linux.
• Implements observability: logging, alerts, data-quality checks, audits, runbooks.
• Optimizes Snowflake performance and spend.
• Enforces access controls and secrets management.
• Partners with product/analytics and provides on-call support.
