Job summary

Providence is seeking a Data Engineer I to design and develop data-centric applications supporting clinical and operational workflows across the healthcare system. You will own reliability, security, and cost-efficiency of the enterprise data platform, automating pipelines and monitoring production workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in CS/Engineering or equivalent; senior-level hands-on ownership of production data operations.
• 1+ year of related experience in Snowflake, CTRL-M, and ADF.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and monitor ELT/ETL pipelines across cloud services and Snowflake; keep data fresh and accurate.
• Triaging failures, performing root-cause analyses, and reducing MTTR.
• Coordinate schedules and dependencies (Ctrl-M) and manage connectors (Fivetran/HVR).
• Build data automation with SQL, Python, and shell (Bash/PowerShell) on Linux.
• Implement observability: logging, alerting, data-quality checks, audits, and runbooks.
• Optimize Snowflake performance and spend (warehouses, caching).
• Enforce access controls and secrets management; support compliance and audits.
• Partner with product/analytics; document procedures; provide reliable on-call support.
