Job summary

Slalom is seeking Data Engineers and Senior Data Engineers to support the development of a greenfield data platform. This role involves assessing current workloads, diagnosing delivery challenges, and moving priority solutions into production using Databricks and dbt Cloud.

You will build reliable, scalable data pipelines and collaborate with leadership and engineers in a fast-paced client-facing environment, with remote work aligned to Mountain Time hours.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and delivering modern data pipelines.
• Strong SQL skills with production-grade pipelines.
• Experience with Databricks and dbt Cloud in client engagements.
• Experience with data transformation, data modeling, and CDC/integration tools.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing data workloads and identify delivery issues.
• Design, build, test, deploy, and support data pipelines using Databricks and dbt Cloud.
• Remediate pipeline, workload, and production-readiness challenges.
• Move priority data workloads into production focusing on reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to data architecture, data modeling, testing, and deployment decisions.
• Collaborate with solution leadership, senior stakeholders, and other engineers to establish sustainable engineering and delivery practices.
• Communicate technical risks, recommendations, and progress clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively as part of a cohesive, outcomes-focused delivery team.
