Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a Data Engineer – Business Analytics to design, build, and optimize analytics datasets on a modern data platform leveraging Databricks. The role bridges data engineering and business analytics to deliver trusted datasets for enterprise reporting and self-service analytics.

You will develop Silver and Gold layer assets in a medallion architecture, define semantic layer in Databricks, and partner with stakeholders to ensure KPI alignment and data

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data modeling, or analytics engineering.
• Strong expertise in Databricks Unity Catalog, SQL, and Python for data transformation and pipeline development.
• Proven experience designing and implementing data models within modern data platforms (Lakehouse).
• Experience with medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Understanding of BI tools with focus on dataset consumption rather than semantic layer ownership.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and curated datasets in Databricks Lakehouse (Silver/Gold).
• Develop analytics-ready data models and semantic structures in Databricks.
• Transform raw data into business-ready datasets reflecting standard definitions and KPIs.
• Apply dimensional modeling in a distributed data environment.
• Own the semantic layer within Databricks and ensure consistent definitions across reporting.
