Kentro is seeking a remote Data Engineer to design, build, and support a modern data platform for MI/BI initiatives for a federal customer. You will develop data pipelines, support governance and MDM, and collaborate with business stakeholders using cloud-native tools.

This mid-level role emphasizes hands-on data solution delivery, strong SQL/PySpark skills, and experience with AWS services in a federal consulting context. Remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years designing and supporting enterprise data solutions in cloud environments.
• 5+ years of SQL and Python/PySpark experience.
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and Delta Lake/Lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and data governance initiatives.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize notebooks, workflows, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines using PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake.
• Support Lakehouse implementations and data governance practices.
• Assist with performance tuning, cluster optimization, and operational support.
