FocusKPI, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to join our client’s growing team and help build reliable data systems that power decision-making.

You will own data pipelines, collaborate across analytics, finance, risk, marketing, product, and engineering, and advance our platform toward reliability and scalability. You’ll work in a fully remote arrangement for 4-6 months at ~40 hrs/week, with opportunities to apply AI-assisted development tools while upholding high standards for security and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 4-5 years of industry experience in software or data engineering.
• Proficiency in Python/Java and strong SQL skills.
• Experience building or maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines with dbt, Fivetran, or similar tools.
• Experience building production pipelines for data ingestion into a data warehouse.
• Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift and Airflow.
• Strong data modeling, data quality, and query optimization knowledge.
• Software engineering fundamentals: version control, testing, CI/CD.
• Ability to troubleshoot production systems and communicate with stakeholders.
• FinTech or Financial Services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines across the data platform.
• Own projects from implementation through production support.
• Work with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, APIs, and cloud services to optimize workloads.
• Support data warehouse development with schema design and data quality practices.
• Improve ingestion, orchestration, monitoring, and reduce recurring operational work.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools while ensuring data accuracy and security.
• Own end-to-end data lifecycle management.
• Ensure data governance and reliability with tests and observability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate data needs into solutions.
