Job summary

Oddball is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain data infrastructure powering a cloud-based case management system for a major federal agency. You will work in a fully remote, Agile environment with cross-functional teams to scale data-driven initiatives.

The role emphasizes AWS data services, data security, and governance in federal environments, with a focus on data pipelines, marts, and PostgreSQL maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
• Authorized to work in the United States; ability to obtain federal background clearance.
• Experience with AWS and PostgreSQL in data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data marts, materialized views, and pipelines in an AWS-hosted Data Lake environment.
• Design and optimize data workflows to support analytics and reporting across the agency.
• Monitor data infrastructure health and address performance bottlenecks and data quality issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and agency stakeholders to scale data-driven initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with federal data security requirements (FISMA, NIST 800-53).
