Job summary

JLL is seeking a Technical Services Site Assessment Specialist to independently conduct Critical Environment Gap Assessments for data centers and mission‑critical facilities. You will evaluate MEP systems, identify infrastructure gaps, and provide actionable recommendations to optimize client investments.

The role manages proposals, scopes, ROM cost estimates, and client communications, ensuring project profitability across multiple concurrent engagements. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
• 5–7 years of hands‑on experience in critical facilities, data centers, or mission‑critical infrastructure.
• Expertise in electrical power systems (UPS, generators, PDUs, ATS, switchgear), mechanical cooling systems, fire suppression, and building automation systems.
• Strong understanding of Uptime Institute Tier Standards, NFPA codes, data center design best practices, redundancy configurations, and equipment lifecycle management.
• Experience developing technical proposals, scope documents, and ROM cost estimates for capital projects.
• Strong financial acumen with ability to track project profitability and manage budgets while handling multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to non‑technical and executive audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with photo documentation and digital asset management.
• Willingness to travel 30% domestically and conduct multi‑day site assessments.
• Physical capability to navigate facility environments including rooftops, mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, confined spaces, and ladders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Comprehensive Critical Environment Gap Assessments (CEGA) for data centers and critical facilities.
• Evaluate electrical power, cooling, fire suppression, and building automation systems.
• Assess redundancy, NFPA/ASHRAE compliance, and single points of failure.
• Develop feasibility studies for generator/UPS replacements and HVAC design analyses.
• Serve as primary client contact during site visits and deliver findings to leadership.
• Generate technical proposals with scope, deliverables, pricing, and ROM estimates.
• Author assessment reports with executive summaries, gap analysis, and cost opinions.
• Manage multiple projects, track hours, expenses, and profitability to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Maintain documentation including photo archives and management presentations.
