Job summary

Zscaler, a global cloud security leader, seeks a Staff Data Center Operations Engineer to deploy, maintain, and scale production data center infrastructure. This remote role in Amsterdam reports to the Director of Network Infrastructure and supports physical server, network, and cabling deployments across locations.

You will coordinate with engineering teams, troubleshoot hardware and network faults, and manage asset tracking while enabling operations with up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in production data center environments.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to customer work.
• Deep technical understanding of server platforms, network hardware, optics, fiber cabling, copper cabling.
• Proficient with Linux/Unix CLI, BIOS configurations, and out-of-band management tools such as iLO, iDRAC, and IPMI.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly for deployments.

Responsibilities

• Execute physical rack-and-stack deployments, structured cabling, and infrastructure lifecycle management across production data centers.
• Triage, troubleshoot, and remediate hardware and network faults while replacing failing components.
• Manage and resolve operational ticket queues, and drive maintenance and break/fix activities.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, system owners, and Remote Hands technicians to validate installations.
• Maintain asset tracking documentation and support travel up to 50% (domestic and international).
