Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Expert for data centers on a contract basis. This remote role requires 5–10 hours per week and offers $100–$140 per hour.

As part of the data-center team, you will review complex engineering tasks focusing on cooling, hydronic systems, HVAC and electrical systems, verify calculations, and ensure compliance with codes and equipment data. Immediate start.

Qualifications

• Must-Have: 2+ years of experience in data-center or mission-critical MEP design.
• Strong command of data-center systems and relevant codes.
• Ability to interpret large document sets and explain technical issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Review complex engineering tasks in data-center environments, focusing on cooling, hydronic, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Check assumptions, calculations, and standards; ensure compliance with codes and equipment data.
• Identify ambiguities and improve task prompts, acceptance criteria, and rubrics.
• Validate corrected tasks end to end and produce clear technical findings.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines.
