Job summary

Capco is seeking an experienced Data Architect to drive data and AI transformation within a regulated financial-services environment. You will design scalable data foundations and lead architecture workstreams, guiding engineers from concept to operations.

You will collaborate with business, governance and technology teams to onboard critical sources to a governed cloud platform and create reusable data capabilities for AI, analytics and reporting.

Qualifications

• University degree in computer science, business information systems engineering, natural sciences or a comparable discipline.
• Several years of practical experience in the conceptual design and implementation of enterprise data architectures, cloud data platforms and storage technologies, including ETL/ELT.
• Experience across on-premises and cloud environments, preferably Azure Databricks.
• Strong data-modelling and engineering skills with enterprise data models, data structures, SQL, NoSQL, APIs, governance, metadata, lineage and data quality.
• Collaborative, ownership mindset with analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
• Fluent in English; German advantageous; ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• You lead the conceptual and technical design, development and optimization of data architecture from analysis to implementation.
• You define the cloud data foundation using Azure Databricks and onboard sources to Bronze and Silver layers.
• You establish patterns for data modelling, storage, ETL/ELT, APIs and governance, with metadata and data quality controls.
• You own architecture decisions, guide migrations, and lead architecture workstreams.
• You collaborate with business, engineering, governance and operations teams and document architecture.
