Job summary

Koniag Data Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Data Architect to support the CTIS‑M modernization for the USDA APHIS PPQ program. This fully remote role involves enterprise data modeling, Azure SQL design, and FOIA-ready audit capabilities while aligning with federal standards.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, participate in Agile sprints, and help implement scalable data flows and secure data architectures across cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in enterprise data architecture and relational modeling.
• Expertise in Azure SQL, T-SQL, performance tuning, and cloud data engineering.
• Experience with Agile Scrum and Azure DevOps/TFS.
• Experience with integration platforms like MuleSoft.

Responsibilities

• Guide the design and optimization of the CTIS‑M Azure SQL data architecture supporting all Regulated Garbage (RG) workflows.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ER diagrams, metadata structures, lineage rules, and retention policies.
• Ensure all data structures comply with USDA, APHIS, PPQ, FEA, and federal requirements.
• Define and enforce enterprise data modeling standards, naming conventions, and governance practices.
• Translate requirements into sustainable data flows and scalable relational schemas.
