Job summary

Ergon Inc. is seeking a Data Analytics Intern to support the Energy & Specialty Solutions (E&SS) business unit.

The internship offers remote work through Mississippi State University's Workforce Scholars Initiative, with a flexible schedule around coursework in Flowood, MS. You will build data-driven reporting and visualization tools, collaborate with stakeholders across functions, and communicate actionable insights related to commercial, financial, and operational priorities.

Qualifications

Enrolled at Mississippi State University and eligible to participate in the Workforce Scholars Initiative.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
Translate business questions into metrics, visuals, and reporting solutions.
Prepare data with Power BI, Excel, and approved E&SS data sources.
Support report testing, documentation, user feedback, and ongoing improvements.
Collaborate with stakeholders across business optimization, sales, marketing, finance, supply chain, operations, and planning.
Communicate findings through concise summaries, presentations, and dashboards tailored to the audience.
Follow established standards for report design, KPI definitions, data security, documentation, and quality.
Build familiarity with Power BI Service, Microsoft Fabric, shared workspaces, and other approved analytics tools.
Use structured development practices and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and solution quality.
Analyze business performance across sales, demand, inventory, supply chain, pricing, margins, and financial results.
Identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities, and summarize findings for business users.
