Job summary

PrizePicks is seeking a Data and Analytics Engineering Manager to lead a team building scalable data pipelines and analytical data products. You will partner with Product, Analytics, Infrastructure, and Business stakeholders to deliver trusted datasets and metrics, while driving delivery pace and engineering excellence.

You will mentor and develop engineers, own hiring and career growth, and uphold data governance and best practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in CS, Math, or a related field.
• 8+ years in Data Engineering or related roles.
• 3+ years leading engineers (hiring, coaching, delivery).
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals (scaling, reliability).
• Hands-on ability in Python and/or Java.
• Experience with cloud data ecosystems (GCP preferred, AWS or Azure).
• Proficiency with SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala).
• Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Argo, etc.).
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data reliability.
• Exposure to data governance and observability tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering team and set technical direction.
• Deliver scalable data ingestion, transformation, storage pipelines.
• Ensure reliability, performance, and cost efficiency of data systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Data Science, and Business teams to deliver data assets.
• Own sprint planning, prioritization, and delivery commitments.
• Establish data engineering standards, patterns, and documentation.
• Ensure security, privacy, and data retention compliance.
