Job summary

Recidiviz is hiring a Data Analyst to work with state partners on analyzing criminal justice data and building tools that illuminate drivers of incarceration. You will contribute to data-driven decision making, develop clear visualizations, and support launches across multiple states.

You will collaborate with experienced analysts, manage messy datasets, and communicate findings to internal teams and state partners. Remote-friendly in the United States with occasional travel to state partners.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of professional work experience in data analytics.
• Experience exploring, analyzing, and cleaning real-world datasets.
• Strong SQL with joins, aggregations, and window functions.
• Familiarity with Python and Pandas for analysis and visualization.
• Experience with BI/dashboard tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explore datasets to find patterns and insights in American criminal justice data.
• Carry out well-scoped analyses under guidance from senior analysts and our State Engagement team.
• Prepare analytical data for product launches in the states where we work and flag data discrepancies as they arise.
• Build clear, well-documented visualizations and dashboards with our existing tools.
• Communicate findings to internal teams and state partners.
• Analyze trends related to our own work to understand product function.
