Job summary

New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Office of Data Management in Albany is seeking a Data Analyst 1/Trainee 1/Trainee 2. You will identify data patterns, perform data extraction and quality checks, develop analytical models, and communicate insights to support departmental decision-making and policy development.

The role reports to a Data Analyst 2 and offers full-time employment with telecommuting options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or related field.
• For Trainee 2: one year of experience in advanced Excel analysis.
• For Data Analyst 1: two years of experience in data visualization, statistical models, and data mining tools, or completion of two-year traineeship.
• Master's or Ph.D. in qualifying field may substitute for years of specialized experience.
