Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Data & AI Product Manager to shape strategy, roadmap, and adoption for an enterprise Data & AI product. You’ll partner with an engineering pod, write requirements, and drive measurable business value through data-driven decisions.

You will guide prioritization, validate data quality, and engage with leadership to ensure successful product outcomes across business units. This is a remote role based in the United States.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience in product ownership or product management, including data, analytics, or AI products delivered to production.
• Experience creating backlogs, requirements, and acceptance criteria for alignment among engineering and business stakeholders.
• Working SQL skills and familiarity with modern data platform concepts such as lakehouse architecture and data quality.
• Experience defining product success metrics and sharing progress with leadership and governance groups.
• Experience collaborating across independent business units with differing priorities.
• Experience supporting an agile delivery cadence with an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical, quantitative, or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience leading a product, not just a project, with clear prioritization decisions.
• Ability to write clear, actionable requirements for technical and business partners.
• Comfort working with data, modeling concepts, and distinguishing technical from undocumented rules.
• Ability to understand user needs and advocate for product direction with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Shape the product vision and roadmap, balancing business needs with platform capabilities.
• Manage the backlog and write requirements to help teams deliver high quality work.
• Prioritize work, communicate tradeoffs to stakeholders, and guide what's built next.
• Coordinate delivery cadence with the engineering pod, including refinement and sprint planning.
• Define success metrics and create practical reports on adoption, value, and product performance.
• Support adoption by engaging early users and enabling teams with training and enablement.
• Build trusted stakeholder relationships across business units with differing priorities.
• Guide governance and design controls integration from the start.
• Share progress and recommendations with leadership and governance committees clearly.
• Provide product direction and leadership for the assigned engineering pod, including talent planning.
