Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a remote Cytogenetics Technologist to join our Brentwood, TN team. The role focuses on oncology chromosomes using Applied Spectral Imaging and may include FISH analysis with Metasystems Neon.

Work from home eligibility applies to US-based candidates, with a typical schedule Mon–Fri 8:00–4:30. Responsibilities include imaging and karyotyping cytogenetic specimens, reviewing requisitions, reporting results with ISCN nomenclature, distinguishing normal from abnormal findings, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• 3 years of experience working in a Cytogenetics clinical laboratory.
• 2 years of experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images.
• 2 year of experience in Oncology cytogenetics.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of chromosomes, which includes imaging and karyotyping of cytogenetic specimens
• Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
• Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
• Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
• Perform and evaluate troubleshooting, document all corrective actions as needed
• Comply with company policies and procedures
