Job summary

Lyric is seeking an Information Security Intern to join the Security team for a 12-week program. You will work with cloud security, IAM, endpoint security, and vulnerability management, gaining hands-on experience in a real-world healthcare technology environment.

You'll collaborate with seasoned security professionals, complete a defined internship project, and present findings to Security and Technology leadership at the end.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field
• Expected to have completed the third year of undergraduate study prior to the start of the internship
• Academic coursework or demonstrated foundational knowledge in information security or cybersecurity
• Foundational understanding of computer networks, operating systems, applications, and general IT concepts
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts such as authentication, network security, vulnerability management, security monitoring, cloud security, data protection
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with an interest in technical problems
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and document work effectively
• Demonstrated curiosity about cybersecurity and continuous learning
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
• No prior professional cybersecurity work experience required

Responsibilities

• Support the Security team in monitoring and maintaining security controls across AWS, Azure, networks and endpoints
• Assist with security information and event management activities, including reviewing events and logs
• Gain exposure to endpoint detection and response technologies and security investigations
• Support IAM activities including SSO, MFA, role-based access and privileged access
• Assist with investigating security alerts and documenting findings and next steps
• Participate in the vulnerability management lifecycle and remediation tracking
• Document security standards, procedures, and runbooks
• Learn how cloud security and data protection are applied across systems
• Contribute to projects in cloud security, threat detection, and automation
• Research emerging cybersecurity threats and share findings with the team
• Understand security considerations in healthcare technology and regulated environments
• Complete internship project and present findings to leadership
