Job summary

Lyric is seeking an Information Security Intern to join its Security team for a 12‑week program designed for students who have completed their third year in information security, cybersecurity or related fields.

You will work alongside experienced security professionals and gain hands-on exposure to cloud security, IAM, endpoint security, security monitoring and incident response, vulnerability management, data protection, and security automation. Prior professional experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Expected to have completed the third year of undergraduate study prior to the start of the internship.
• Academic coursework or demonstrated foundational knowledge in information security or cybersecurity.
• Foundational understanding of computer networks, operating systems, applications, and general IT concepts.
• Familiarity with fundamental cybersecurity concepts such as authentication, network security, vulnerability management, security monitoring, cloud security, data protection, and common threats.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with an interest in technical problems.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and document work effectively.
• Curiosity and continuous learning in cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Security team in monitoring and maintaining security controls across AWS, Microsoft Azure, corporate networks, and endpoints.
• Assist with SIEM activities, including reviewing events, analyzing logs, documenting findings, and learning how detections are developed.
• Gain exposure to EDR technologies and assist with endpoint security monitoring, policy reviews, and investigations.
• Support IAM activities involving SSO, MFA, role-based access, and identity lifecycle management.
• Assist with investigating alerts and documenting findings and next steps.
• Participate in vulnerability management lifecycle including scanning results and remediation tracking.
• Help document security standards, procedures, controls, and runbooks.
• Learn how security configurations are applied to cloud, OS, networks, and applications.
• Participate in security projects across cloud security, data protection, threat detection, automation, and vulnerability management.
• Research emerging cybersecurity threats and share findings with the team.
• Develop understanding of security in healthcare tech and regulated environments.
• Complete a defined internship project and present findings to leadership.
