Job summary

BCG Attorney Search is seeking a Cybersecurity Project Attorney in Chicago, IL or remotely within the US. You will join a dynamic Cybersecurity & Incident Response practice and work on high-profile matters while developing expertise in incident response.

The role requires a JD and 1–3 years in cybersecurity incident response, with strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure. Travel as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in a US jurisdiction.
• 1–3 years in cybersecurity incident response or related fields.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to solve practical problems and manage multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with breach notification laws and incident response processes.
• Interest in legal technology and AI applications.
• Excellent analytical and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate responses to security incidents across legal, technical, and business stakeholders.
• Analyze breach notification laws and advise on obligations and timelines.
• Advise on security aspects of corporate transactions.
• Direct forensic investigations and liaise with vendors.
• Manage regulatory reporting obligations and litigation holds.
• Draft and review incident-related communications.
• Conduct data impact assessments and support post-incident remediation.
• Develop and refine incident response workflows and procedures.
• Integrate technology, including AI, into legal practice.
• Educate legal professionals on incident response tools and resources.
